B.J. Upton launched 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI at Minute Maid Field where the
SSB SSB Tar Heels beat the Streator Reds by the score of 9 to 2.
Upton had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move.
He ripped a base-knock in the 2nd inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 4th
inning and clubbed a three-run home run (his 9th of the season) in the 7th
inning. SSB and Streator each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.
Curt Schilling(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Schilling was helped out by Pat Neshek who recorded his 3rd save. Oliver
Perez(2-1) ended up with the loss. He gave up 6 hits and 6 walks in 6
innings.
'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some
adjustments,' Upton said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you
out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
